Daytrips

Schloss Greyerz – a castle built in the 13th century, the former seat of the Count of Greyerz, the ruler of the Saanenland. Due to financial difficulties the Saanenland region finally fell to Bern in 1554. The crane, the heraldic animal of the counts of Greyerz, remains the heraldic animal of the Saanenland to this day. 

Cailler chocolate factory – chocolate, what would life be without it? Look and taste – experience the creation of this Swiss tradition. 

Montreux – Mediterranean flair on Lake Geneva. 

Bex salt mine – beneath the earth and into the mine. Learn more about the history of salt mining and find out about the hard life of the miners. 

St. Beatus caves – a cave system of a very different kind awaits you by the side of Lake Thun. This magnificent subterranean natural wonder was formed over millions of years in the Niederhorn massif. Around one kilometre of the cave system can be accessed. It has not yet been completely explored. Open daily during the summer months.

Fondation Pierre Gianadda, Martigny – alternating exhibitions featuring the works of great masters and the Foundation's own impressive collection. The da Vinci exhibition alone is worth a visit.
